Rosendale’s Year Group Olympic Games kicked off yesterday at a very soggy Rosendale Playing Fields with the Year 1 children enjoying a rather slippy, slidy and muddy experience. This morning it was Year 2’s turn and although conditions had improved slightly, it was really more like January than July. The children enjoyed a series of multiskills activities, aimed at improving the ABC of sport skills (Agility, Balance, Coordination) which form the foundation of most of the sports they will learn during their time in Years 3 to 6 and beyond.
Tomorrow it’s Reception’s turn, which promises to be more damp and muddy than Monday. It really is more like January than July at the moment but we’re determined that the weather won’t spoil our fun in Olympic year!
Photographs will follow.
