YEAR 4 FOOTBALL ROSENDALE 4 – 1 OAKFIELD

Often overlooked in the football scheme of things, this afternoon the year 4 boys had a chance to show the world just how good they were at football. Expecting two Oakfield teams, 22 boys turned out resplendent in their blue or orange strips. However when only 12 Oakfield players appeared, first thoughts were that they had heard just how hot the Year 4 Rosendale boys were. After a few reorganisations, blue and orange teams played a 20 minute half each. Although the FA recommend 9-a-side contests, our boys seemed fairly capable at the 12-a-side variety. Drawing one a piece at the break, Rosendale’s blue team powered forward, slotting 3 goals past a weary Oakfield defence in a sublime, purple patch of play. Our aim was to enjoy ourselves at all costs (which some interpreted as win at all costs) and we achieved both quite nicely.

Don’t worry girls – your chance will come after half term.
