Representatives from all interested parties, including Lambeth Council, Lambeth Primary Schools Football League, Brixton Bulls, Oakfield School, Matchtea.com and local residents, met on Saturday to discuss the future management of the playing fields. It was unanimously agreed that the fields are an incredible local asset for young people and their use as such should be continued as well as options for redevelopment being explored. It was also agreed that a Community Interest Company (CIC) should be formed to manage the facilities in place of Lambeth Council, who will however still play a significant role. Once this has been completed early in the new year, all options for current and future development will be explored.
Many thanks to all those individuals who gave up their Saturday afternoon to attend the meeting.
