Rosendale B 4 – 2 Oliver Goldsmith

Rosendale B moved into the second round of the Magazine Cup yesterday at the mud-free Alleyn’s School pitch. Rosendale went ahead early in the game and kept the lead until just before half time when Oliver Goldsmith equalised. However if only VAR had been installed for this cup competition as it would surely have revealed Cassius making an astounding save to deny the equaliser: memories of Gordon Banks’ remarkable save against Pele in 1970  (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HNLam4RAbg8) springing to mind. However the referee ruled it had crossed the line so the teams went to the break even. Buoyed on by this perceived injustice, the boys stormed ahead netting three time in the second half, including great strikes from Cyreece and Bobby. We look forward to the next round and a possible tie more tumultuous than Rangers v Celtic or Barca v Real, could it be Rosendale B v Rosendale A?

Team: Cass, Cyreece, Devin, Bobby, Chrys Desir, Nathan, Omarian, Fred, Ferdi, Finlay, Rabean, Rufus, Leo and Rudy
