Rosendale A moved even closer to securing a 4th League title in 6 seasons with an emphatic 4 – 0 victory over St. Marys Primary this afternoon. Dominating first half possession, much like Manchester City might, playing a mid table Premier League club, the honours were even at half time. After the break the tempo went in to overdrive as Amari powerfully broke through and set things alight with the first goal. Franklyn doubled the lead from the penalty spot after a fabulous through ball from Zedan forced the St Mary’s defender to bring down Franklyn. The third was a fabulous move which Franklyn beautifully stroked past the keeper, reminiscent of Brazil’s Carlos Alberto in the 1970 World Cup Final (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=M5HbmeNKino). Sherae deservedly added a fourth with another fine finish into the roof of the net. It is said that great goalkeepers often do nothing for 99% of the game and then perform a moment of brilliance, which was exactly what Laurence managed to do, acrobatically tipping an effort over the bar to keep another clean sheet. Well done too to Lola who made her debut for the last ten minutes, looking very comfortable and providing a couple of marvellous forays into the St Mary’s half.
