Rosendale Primary School received £10,840 over the academic year 2015/16 from the Government’s PE and Sport Premium Grant Funding. This funding has been used shared between one full time PE teacher and one full time assistant. This has enabled 7 classes each week, for 36 weeks of the year (252 sessions) to receive specialist PE coaching and 52 SEND children to receive one to one or small group PE related sessions. Class teachers have benefited in terms of their own continuous professional development by observing and taking part alongside the specialist coach.
Over the year, a total of 18 before school and after school sports clubs were available to all ages at a charge of £5 per session (no charge for those children receiving the pupil premium funding). Over 450 children took part, of which 40% were girls.
