GIRLS FOOTBALL: LAMBETH SCHOOLS COMPETITION

Thanks to Mr Milne’s Wednesday afternoon club, football fever has been infectious amongst our girls. Enthusiasm is so high we were able to field two teams at the recent Lambeth School Sports Competition.  After 3 morning matches and 3 afternoon matches, Rosendale Blue finished in 13th position and Rosendale Orange in a very impressive 8th overall. A great start after only a month playing together. Well done girls, thank you Mr Milne and we look forward to several more matches over the coming season.

Rosendale Blue: Hannah, Abigail, Mya, Amirah, Clea, Olivia, Lola Blue, Elizabeth

Rosendale Orange: Jenny, Blythe, Ellie, Blossom, Hayley, Saffron, Maya, Sade

INVESTEC WORLD HOCKEY LEAGUE

Many thanks to the parents (especially Juliet) who took some of the members of the Rosendale girls hockey club along to the Investec World Hockey League last Tuesday. As well as watching an international match, the girls also received tuition and advice from international coaches and players. The girls haven’t stopped talking about it all week and let’s hope it becomes an inspiring event in their hockey careers.Image

The record speaks for itself. History has been made. Well done to all the boys who have played over a long season. Specially well done to Rob Reynolds whose managed it all whilst convalescing from a serious injury. And there’s still the quarter final of The Magazine Cup next Saturday. Could it be a double? As Chas and Dave famously said, “It’s lucky for Rosendale when the year ends in 3”

Lambeth Primary Schools Cycling Competition

The rain just about held off yesterday for Lambeth SSP’s inaugural cycling event at Herne Hill Velodrome. 4 boys and 4 girls battled it out with 5 other schools on the track and the new inner track, where a skills competition was held. Although Rosendale didn’t do too well in the skills event we managed to win the 4 minute lap event, with Seth completing an astonishing 7 laps in that time. Well done Seth and everyone else!
